Thompson STEM Engagement have been working with the Europlanet 2024 Research Infrastructure to produce a set of school resources exploring the possibilities of life on Mars. This project is funded through the Horizon 2020 programme, and links areas common to global school curriculums with research into the conditions on Mars, and how habitable it has been over its history, and even today.
The resources detail how we can study these conditions using analogue sites here on Earth, such as those that the Europlanet 2024 Research Infrastructure gives researchers the opportunity to visit. These range from the hottest settings on Earth, to volcanically active environments, to areas covered in vast ice sheets.
These resources will be released every Thursday at 12pm (BST) and can be found here: https://www.europlanet-society.org/introducing-the-mars-collection-of-educational-resources-1-extrem...

Sense the Universe
is a project put together by Thompson STEM Engagement and Cardiff University, funded by the Europlanet Society. The project looks to promote sensory learning and lessen barriers to learning by creating lessons and activities based around common household items.
The first of our projects is Tasty Planet, where our Company Head and Lead Developer, Tony Thompson, created the layers of a planet using tasty treats. This included an inner core made of Jam, an outer core made of icing, a mantle made of biscuit crumbs and a crust made of sugar!
